MILLINOCKET WILFRED E. WRIGHT
Wilfred E. Wright, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2003. He was born, the son of William and Lydia (Pine) Wright, on October 31, 1920, in Vanceboro.
Willie graduated from Danforth High School, class of 1940, and shortly thereafter joined the U.S. Army, where he served four years during World War II.
Willie was employed by Great Northern Paper Company in the purchasing department, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet H. (Johnson) Wright of Millinocket, and his children: his son, Earl and wife, Michelle Wright of Millinocket, his daughter, Jana L. Wright of Windham; two brothers, Francis of Tampa, Florida, and Robert of East Machias, Maine. He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Elmo, Perley, Richard, Harold, and Philip; three sisters, Annie, Freida, and Phylis.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Millinocket, with the Rev. Dr. Lance Almeida officiating. Burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Willie’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, Highland Avenue, Millinocket, ME 04462.
