IRENE T. INGERSON

Irene T. Ingerson, 90, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2003. She was born in Princeton on November 2, 1912, the daughter of Isaac and Elmira (Chadbourne) Tupper.

Mrs. Ingerson was the wife of the late Irving B. Ingerson. She was valedictorian of her class at Princeton High School, and graduated from Eastern State Normal School in Castine.

Mrs. Ingerson began her professional career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Mariaville, and later taught in Gardiner, teaching  a total of 26 years.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Larry Jones of East Hampton, Connecticut; one son and daughter-in-law, Bradford and Cynthia Ingerson of Millinocket; one sister, Virginia Clark of Bangor; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Jones.

Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Brewer at 1 p.m. June 14, 2003, with the Rev. Norman Rust officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Manna Ministries, 180 Center Street, Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are by R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home in Millinocket.
