Things I’d like to have in Millinocket if I were Queen
- Several Banks that stay-open till 5 o’clock on Fridays
- Summer day Camp for kids that is self-supporting outside under a giant pavilion
- Dog Park that requires a fee to use, a safe& clean place for dogs and owners to socialize.
- A real gym that has various workout classes everyday…all day
- Community Crime Watch Program
- Town Hall to stay open one evening a week
- Town Council to meet when it is convenient for working people to attend
- People on Town Council that have manners and some degree of intelligence
- Tax Collector that will send out excise tax bills when they are due
- Town Hall to work with DPW to mail out stickers for the dump to people who live in town and have a registered vehicle(s) once a year
- All cats to be licensed (money to pay local small salary to animal control officer)
- Friendly postal workers
- Energy that is affordable
- Combine schools and reduce budget and taxes
- Revamp the schools nutrition programs to reflect healthy choices
- Remove the soda machines from the schools hallways
- Make the high school a closed campus
- Doctor that practices wellness and holistic client care
- Wiring all around the downtown park & bandstand area for events
- Area around the bandstand returned to grass and parking lot shortened and repaired
- Peddlers Hill be grassed in and peddlers moved to the bandstand area hence bringing more people through town…
- Farmers Market once a week all summer
- Change road / angle of road to the airport…it is dangerous and difficult to get in & out of in all weather
- Better Cellular Service
- Restaurants that serve different types of food
- Dances for school kids every other Friday evening
- People that have Customer Service skills
- Downtown building façades to be renovated
- Flower Boxes on all windows in downtown area
- Better-maintained trashcans in more locations downtown
- Flags on all lamp posts/poles on the main streets
- Airport where passengers can arrive and depart more frequently
- Children with excellent manners and language skills
- A Community that supports tourism and encourages change and diversity, that works as a unit to revitalize the city to an even more wonderful place to live & play
- Great shoe store
- Coffee shop that is open at night and weekends all year round with great atmosphere and great baked goods, coffee and customer service
I’m sure this list seems long but all these things are small things that would make a big impact…and make more Magic for the town I live in.
